Birdwatching

Justin and I were at the park here in our neighborhood and I pointed out a red-winged blackbird which was singing loudly by the lake. We saw a woodpecker shortly afterward, and when we got home I decided to fill our bird feeder. Lots of birds were happy to pay us a visit, so I ordered a book on bird identification in the Seattle area.

When we'd see a new bird at the feeder, we'd check the book and try to determine what bird variety we had seen. We made a blank booklet for Justin to use to record the names of the birds and where/when we saw them, and I would print out a photo of that type of bird for Justin to cut out and glue into his bird book.
